so I have been debating selling the GSX and getting something more reliable.... some of you have known that and I have heard both good and bad replies on that comment.
The thought has once again immerged.
this time, instead of thinling of buying a Mustang, the car that seems to meet my needs is more in the lines of an EVO.
Pro's of keeping the GSX: mods pretty much done, pretty much paid for, cheap mods, knowledge of the car and platform, cheaper insurance than the EVO, tires are cheaper because of the size
Con's of keeping the GSX: low resale value due to age and mileage, lots of miles, not as reliable, 2 door, wife hates car, less mods available, parts are getting hard to find, transmissions are netorious for breaking, it's an older car, lower gas mileage than an EVO, bolts are older and harder to remove, parts on the car are old and more worn
Pro's of buying an EVO: Less miles, reliability, practicallity, 4 doors, wife would be happier, better gas miliage, it's a newer car with modern updates, it has a higher resale value, there are more mods available, new parts and bolts, parts are easier to find, HID lights, bullet proof drive train, recaro seats, better handling.... it's an EVO!!!!
Con's of buying EVO: purchase price, clutches are notorious for wear, need a loan, will have a car payment, mods cost more, tires will cost more due to size, the car will most likely be stock or closer to stock
what does everyone think
does anyones else have pro's or cons to either car.
should I sell the GSX and buy an EVO????

I'd say put it up for sale.. but wait and don't take a big hit on it. If the money you get from the sale is what you want to get to make you happy or more then id say part with it when you find a good deal on an EVO. So put it up for sale, (actually put it up for sale) autotrader and what not. If worse comes to worse EBAY it

The only flaw I see in your list of pros and cons is about the wife liking the Evo. Careful there. If she's about comfort in the co-pilot seat she may not go for the suspension.
But you KNOW my advice is go EVO! ... something at yellow in a pristine state and a fabulous price would probably be a stellar idea ...

having both, I'd say stick with the dsm. wait till the evo depreciates more and you've saved up some if you've got your heart set on one.

well, since that is the evo, I change my opinion and advocate the purchase.

The problem with buying an evo is youll want to mod it and if you do that could make it less reliable. Also, from what you said earlier about your wife not wanting you to take out a loan it seems like you arent going to be able to get one. I personally would love to have an EVO because its a great mix of speed and reliability. Then again you could go with a WRX. You can come across them for under 13K now.

I agree spy that I have many hard hours under the hood of the GSX and I am very much attached to it.
however, now that it is running, I am very much scared to race it except from a highway pull.... I just don;t want it to break.... I would feel much more comfortable in something that is more reliable, thats why I keep trying to figure out how to get something else like an EVO.
I will continue to try to figure out how to get one until I accually get one. anyone else have any suggestions??? maybe once some of the other bills are paid off I can convince the wife to be more acceptant of a new ride.... maybe I could just hang on to both of them at that point!!!!

Ben, Ben, Ben, if you're scared of breaking stuff, you shouldn't be modding it. You know that, buddy! The EVO can break just as easily if you start throwing power at it.
There's no sense in having a car like that if you're not going to enjoy it, and breaking a part here or there is a lot cheaper that a consistent car payment every month.
