Just wondering if any of you guys have heard anything about TREperformance fuel pumps. They claim to flow just like a Walboro, have a warrenty, all needed equipment, and list new for about $70. Anyone heard the good, the bad, and the ugly on these pumps?

you can get a new walbro for like 80 on DSMparts.com or a buddy of mine has my old denso 190 in his garage still. i traded him for his 255. if you need a pump i can talk to him... if he charges you anything for it i can't imagine it being more than 20. and i can bring it down to you next week if you want it.

Ah, cool. I musta been looking in the wrong places, I was seeing pricetags of $125 for the Walboro unit.

I'll take the Denso though. I assume install is about as simple as the Walboro? Just gimme a ring or PM me about it, I'll have cash whenever if its needed.

all you need is the pump not the whole kit. i think the kit comes with a new fuel filter and a few other odds and ends. i will call my buddy with the pump after i get out of school and then i will give you a call. it worked when i pulled it out of my car but it has been sitting on a shelf in his garage for a month or so. i will call you around 4pm today.

you might need to solder the connectors for the fuel pump because denso uses bolts and eyelets and i think walbro uses spade connectors... might be the other way around it has been a while since i looked in my fuel tank. either way it isn't too big of a project.

I do believe you need the kit to install a Walbro into a car that has never had an aftermarket pump in it. Someone with experience on this subject please chime in.

what do you think you are going to need to install it? you have a power wire and a ground wire that attaches to the fuel pump. you might need a new o-ring and some connectors depending on if the pump uses spade connectors or eyelets but that isn't really a big deal.

the walbro pump is a bit smaller than the stock pump and sits in the cradle a little funny but the denso pump is almost double the size of the walbro and fits in like a glove.

the only thing the mention about buying the kit is installing the new filter and new O-rings. you can get orings anywhere and i am sure you can find a filter if the pump doesn't come with one for less than 20 bucks... or see if the stock filter will work.

I bought my brand new Walbro through Slowboy Racing for $95 with the install kit, which is cheaper than most places sell the pump alone. The kit includes all the electrical connections, o-rings, and filter that you need. Not saying you're wrong but when it comes to wear items I'd rather buy brand new. Just my opinion though.

I just put my pump right in, to find out the stock power wire was on teh fritz too much to power something as thirsty as a walboro so I had to run new wiring anyways

Just to update, I finished my fuel pump so I thought I'd shed some light on the subject. The Walbro pump does NOT fit in the cradle funny with the install kit. The Walbro sits in the cradle perfectly with the new rubber spacer at the bottom, which makes all the difference. I did have to modify the plastic spacer that goes between the pump and rubber gasket because the Walbro has a funny ridge right next to the pump output line. A little notching with the grinder and all was good. I'll take pictures if anyone needs them. Something else the kit comes with is a wiring harness for the pump as it uses a plug-in connector. I suppose you could use some female electrical connections if you really needed to though.
