I have a question about the main and rod clearances.

1. I went to the zone and got some plastigauge to do this. They gave me the green colored one. Is this right, all the measure ment are no where near what I seen in the book.

2. Are there any tips I should know before performing this task. I have read my chiltons about this. I just wanted to know if someoen had something to add.

I'm pretty sure the green is what I used. what are your readings and what are they supposed to be?

The book says 0.0008 to 0.0020 now the plactigauges measurements are .001, .0015, .002, & .003 !
I haven't performed the hole test yet. This is because I was unsure of the measurements between the two. And a little lazyness.

You got the right stuff. As long as the plastigauge measures between the .001 and .002 you should be good.
