What ever happened to the guy that ran parts from Conicelli? i used to be able to get a great discount from him. I got an email from him when he left Conicelli and he started his own thing but I lost the addy for the new joint.

Yeah, I just looked up prices at mitsubishiparts.com for a 6 bolt turbo short block and just a bare block. The bare block was 2100 and the full short block with rods, crank pistons, rings and bearings was only 1500. And the turbo short block is 200 less than the non turbo short block. hmmmm

interesting.... looked at that my self just to sure you weren't mistaking.... that doesn't make sense.

bare block 6 bolt $2100
bare block 7 bolt $1400

short block 6 bolt $1500
short block 7 bolt $1600

why would you charge more for a bare block with nothing in it, than a short block with a put together bottom end???

maybe because people like to put there own internals in them... you know, forged rods and pistons, knife edge crank... that kind of thing. might be more of a market for the bare block.

$1400 is a pretty good price for a shortblock!

Hell yeah, Id like to know what internals it has. If its just a cylinder de glaze with OEM pistons, rods, rings, and crank id say its well worth it. I say that because I talked to to the guy at karking.com who sells longblocks for 1500 rebuilt and he said he re uses the rods and crank. The pistons are from a company called Rock. Rings and bearings are Topline.

Well I ended up ordering from JNZ. They're customer service was great and turned me away from the other two I listed. I called to ask some questions, and he remembered me the next day when I called to place my order.

Mitsu.com, kept telling me the thrust bearing was not included with the mains, and then he couldn't even give me a part number for the thrust bearing.

Mitsu.net, you can't get to a live person. Could be a good place to order, but I like talking to a live person once in a while!!
