Who has relocated their battery to the hatch? What gauge wire did you go with and did you route inside or outside of the car? The VFAQ mentions 4 gauge wire (seems ok) but routed through the interior of the car. I guess that I would feel better running along the frame rail.

Welding wire from Farm + Fleet in about a 2 gauge is what I am thinking.biggthumpup.gif Not that I will be running any big amplifiers or anything but I have never been a fan of the alternator noise from running power wires through the interior. Will keep thinking about it and will let you know about the battery box.

I am only looking to gain an inch or two in the engine bay so I may go with one of the slimline yellow top Optima batteries. 625 cold cranking amps @ 32 degrees should do for a fair weather driver right?

Got the yellow-topped Optima tonight and it dropped right in "like a glove"<-- in my best Ace Ventura imitiation...

I used 2 guage and an 80a circuit breaker in the trunk. It only poped if I cranked a long time on cold days.
