when i pulled out the 2600 the springs on the disc were shaking like a tamberine and one of them was broken in half... i am lucky.

How is that excedy supposed to compare to the 2600? I think you got that package from the same folks I got my flywheel. Gripforce Clutches?

no i got mine from precision engineered engines.

it was a great set up for the two days i drove on it... i was out tonight and i lost my gears. the trans is back out but everything looks good.

clutch,PP, and flywheel are still aligned, everything is torqued to spec, the TO bearing is fine, the linkage is fine, hydrolics are new, clutch fork was good, the clutch fork was extending when the clutch was pushed in, extended slave cylinder, gear oil was full, the trans has nearly new syncros w/ billet shift forks, i have no fcuking clue was is wrong with it. any intelligent input would be appreciated.

on a side note a buddy and i started pulling the trans at 11 and we were done a little before midnight. practice makes perfect i suppose.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

last time I lost gears one of my shift cables had popped out of place!

the linkage is fine. it goes into gear with the car off via the linkage and directly on trans. with the car running and the clutch in it would not go into gear via linkage or directly on trans.

Sounds like the clutch is not disengaging all the way. Is it possible air got into the hydraulic system? It the pedal firm or spongy. Make sure the flywheel bolts have not loosened up. I had that happen once. Made a 10.15 pass and then could not select any gears. Had to start the car in first (no clutch switch) to get back to the pits.

there is no air in the lines... we bled it again last night before we pulled the trans. i torqued the flywheel bolts down with red loctite to 70ft lbs and the PP bolts to 26ft lbs (again with red loctite). i will probably pull off the clutch and PP tonight and take a look. thanks for the input.

(and thanks for rubbing in that 10.15 smile.gif )

I can't remember exactly off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure my haynes manual puts the flywheel bolt torque somewhere around 100 ft-lbs.
black92_tsi_awd
I think it's 91 to 97. I just torqued mine to 95.

thank you for the torque specs. my brother took my haynes so i called a friend that was running an aluminum FW and that was what he thought he torqued them too. i will retorque them down this weekend and hopefully have the car back out on the road.
