Where can I get a m12x1.25 helicoil in the Peoria area???

The upper transaxle mounting bolts I buggered up in my trans pulled out yesterday.

I've called Kalina, OReily, 3 Advance, Winners Circle, Autozone and nobodys got one that big.

Hell I'll take a m12x1.5...anything M12

Try some of the local hardware stores... Ace, True Value, Farm and Fleet, TSC....

I found a m12x1.75 kit at A&I.

I'm worried the coarser thread might not be strong enough for the aluminum.

You could always drill and re-tap a size bigger.

Coarse thread is actually best for threading parts directly into aluminum.

Well got one fixed.

Decided to do the other one that was marginal. Also I figured eventually I swap the different bolts accidently and mess up the inserts. Well, I somehow the bottom of the insert out of alignment and it basically jumped a thread! So know the bolt won't thread all the was in.

Back on the hunt tomorrow to fix a helicoil removal tool. Hopefully that's easier to find.
