I have no reference for theE-bay shiters. Unless someone has a special design utilizing the small amount of space under a DSM center console you are going to find more force is needed when you reduce your leverage with a shorter shifter. It's not impossible, but it will not be as easy as it is with the stock length shifter. I for one am willing to accept the greater force required to shift with a shorter throw.
In my case though, I'm just using a very short weighted shift knob on the stock 92 shifter and no rubber bushings throught the shifter mechanism to take up any extra slack. Like butter, no - exact and quick with force, yes.
Marcus, care to elaborate on exactly which/where/how many rubber bushings can be replaced? I would love to get rid of every rubber bushing in my mechanism as well.
