ph34r.gif I have a 95 2G AWD Turbo,, It is getting up there on the miles and I am not letting up on the beatings... I am looking into the options for replacing the engine.. I have heard all about the 2G problem of crank walk though I have never witnessed it,. don’t get me wrong I don’t want to either. Lol.. I have put on a few bolt on performance parts and I have no desire to have to rebuy them if I end up building a 1G 6 bolt.. There has to be away to get a 2G cheap and build it to do what I want.. There is an over abundance of BS out there.. As far as supposed power gains. One of my import mags did a build up all most identical to what I have done and they are claiming way more HP than I have seen.. When does the BS stop.. I have built many Chevy SB and BB… speaking of which I need a 454 if anyone has one laying around.. I have a 1071 blower that needs a home YEHAW.. Ok back on topic… what is the difference on the 1g 2g block
I believe I can use a 2G head (IS IT BETTER OR NOT) will all my retain my stock sensors and what not?? Any help is appreciated. I am in Peoria and I don’t have any engine shops local yet so again if you have had any experience in this area with machine shops,, engine line boring and clean up stuff..

since your going to do the swap I would just do the six bolt and not waste your time and money building a 7 bolt. Granite not all 7 bolts are junk, most are. Especially if your going to be building it as you do it because just throwing an aftermarket clutch on the 7 bolt motors increases the crankwalk issue a big %. So if I were you I would just build the 6 bolt and drop it in.
Another thing is the 1g head is a better flowing head then the 2g head. Its up to you but again the 1g head and 1g motor are better.

granite? .....sweet christ. No personal offense intended guys, but I need an aspirin after making it through those first two posts.

Tooln, if you have the cash for a serious buildup, I've got a 2.4 that I'd be willing to help you out with building up if you bought the shortblock core from me. PM for details if you're interested.
