Full Version: valve problems

its sounds like my left valve is ticking, or sticking or something. is there a way to fix it. i was just going upgrade them slightly but i can't find a decently low price for some performance ones that don't require a diffrent cam.

A few points.

1. Make one thread about one topic, not several. It makes it very difficult to sift through all the crap, and for others to help you.

2. Explain what you mean by your "left valve". First off, valves don't tick, lifters do. I'm having a hard time understanding just what your problem is with this.

3. Anything that has anything to do with buying or selling an item needs to be handled through the exchange. This has been a bit of a sore subject in the past, so it's best just to conform and leave that stuff out of the forums.

Before this gets locked,

I've got a set of 17" wheels for sale, check the exchange! I've also got a good head for sale on there!

I've got all the parts you're asking for. PM me for details.

Before this gets locked,

not locked, but severely edited. There was a question in the OP that warrants a topic.

Please keep all sale posts and parts requests either to PM's or on the Exchange.

For example:

OP -

"Hi guys, I'm having a problem with my engine. Any advice?"

You read this and think, hey I should see if this guy is interested in my engine. Perhaps he didn't read the ad in Exchange. I'll send him a PM.

Lifter tick is very common in DSMs and on a nonturbo won't cause a problem. Try switching to synthetic blend oil and see if that quiets it.

If you have been in the head at all, make sure you didnt get one put in upside down, ive already done that once. Otherwise i think there is a site that sells 3g lifters that will replace your old ones.

sorry about asking so many questions. and i didn't know that i couldn't ask to buy parts. why would that be abig deal? thats kind of weird that i am asking for advice and parts, and i get warned.
The Iron Goat
You misunderstand. It's not the amount of questions, it's the fact that you're squeezing so many questions into one thread. No problems with starting multiple threads on multiple topics, or try using the site's search function for info.

We make a strong effort to keep this site clean and clear with technical information, so putting four or five topics in one thread gets pretty confusing. Also, we have a site exchange specifically for the buying/selling of parts. Many threads have been locked for trying to peddle wares on normal discussion threads. Don't be offended. Lots of the veterans around here have had their pee-pee's slapped for doing just that. And sometimes in a good way. blink.gif

Just read up on the sticky's that we have posted up in the different forum topics, and you should be good.
