So are these things specific to the clutch model/mfr? to the model car/tranny? different from DSM to Evo?

I seem to need one and damn fast. I can get it overnighted I'd bet but thought I'd see if that was necessary first.

Thanks.

You could use a dowel or appoximately sized rod (insert dick jokes here) in a pinch.

They are different from a DSM to an EVO.

A punch could work also... I've even used a socket extention in a pinch.

I got mine from Advanced on University (in stock) for a few bucks!

or if you happen to have a extra DSM trans input shaft laying around... you cound use it

OK, and for a twin disc?

That's what makes me wonder if it's specific to mfr or type of clutch let alone vehicle and trans...

Same premise applies, regardless of clutch. The alignment tool is meant to simulate the trans input shaft, which doesn't change, no matter which clutch you use.

that is why a spare trans input shaft makes such a good alignment tool, a lot more rigid and sturdy too!!!

I've never used an alignment tool, I never saw the use. I always use a nice sized screw driver. Just take your time and it won't be a problem.
