My guage is reading awfully high, and I thought I had corrected the suspected problem, but to no avail. It operates within the markings, but not the typical low at idle and midrange during full pressure.
So can there be something in the way of debris or coking inside the pressure sensor that has it preloaded? I have very little evidence of excessive pressures, but I want to make sure nothing is being damaged.

Mine shows 25 psi at idle on my autometer gauge, so it wouldn't read low on the stock gauge either.

by blocking off the front balance shaft oil passages I've heard that the oil pressure is raised. I would imagine that's part of the explination. Couldn't hurt to pull the sensor out and clean it up good.
I take it that beast is running again, huh?

I run 80psi at 55-60 mph. I have also done the balance shaft removal kit.

the stock gauge is crap. high on one car can be low on another. between the instrument clusters, and the sensor units on the oil filter bracket ther is a lot of room for interpretation between 'hi', 'low', and 'normal' on the needle.
