I am running a .50 trim Garrett and 850cc FIC. I also have a rfl bov and a hks 40 mm wastegate.
My question is can I run the stock fpr without problems?
I am unable to get a good boost in wot. And when it hits a certain amount of boost it kicks and chirps like a bird. It kicks hard! And after it does all that it will sputter like it is missing for about a minute. And then it is back to smooth running.
I can boost if I control it by the gas gauge. But nothing over 10 psi, If it hits 11-12 psi it shoots way past 20 psi. And then starts running like I explained before.
Thanks for the help!

sounds like you're hitting fuel cut and getting some compressor surge after that which isn't really good at all. quite dangerous in fact.
What type of device are you using to measure the air? MAFT, stock MAS, or something else? I have no idea what you mean when you say that you can control boost by the gas gauge. Please explain.
An AFPR with those injectors would be beneficial, particularly if you're running a fuel pump like a HP walbro.
In any event, it sounds like you're running the risk of great damage if you continue with your current setup without understanding the characteristics that the car is exhibiting. I'd take a step back and re-evaluate your gameplan to make sure everything will sync well.

I have to watch the gauge and shift at 10 psi. That is what I mean by controling boost. Sorry I meant gas pedal.
My ebay afpr took a crap on me and I am stuck with the stock fpr.
I am running a GM mas w/translator set at stock and dsm link.

you should definately be able to tune around the fuel with the dsmlink and maft, even with the stock fpr. But a proper AFPR should be on your list for new parts soon.
What do your airflow readings look like at 10psi? Have you tried taking fuel out with the sliders? What does your AF look like at idle and at partial throttle?
If it's tuning with the Link that seems to be the issue, I'd suggest the Link forums, those guys are way more familiar with the device than most of us here.

Hell miami I just got my lo and mid ltft's down to where they are supposed to be. LOL. I have been talking to alot of guys on link, just to try and figure it out on my own. But still a newbie on the subject. I had to set my 150 hz to -16 and the 50 hz to +21. Now my fuel trims are running under 5%.
I will keep at it and see what happens. I need to get to ncgalants and let him have a look at it.
Thanks for the help miami!
OBTW= Front mount is working perfect! Thanks again.
