I've come to the conclusion that my car's too loud... after being followed by 2 cops in two days, enough is enough. I'm not real worried about loosing power, but I don't want to stick a cork in my exhaust either.
Anyone have any suggestions for a quiet exhaust that will still sound decent?
I've been recommended magnaflow, and I've got a flowmaster on my truck that sounds nice, but I'm sure there will be quite a difference between the v8 and the 4 banger tone. Probably trying to stay away from a straight through style.

I'd recommend a
magnaflo 3" in 3" out. It looks like a stock muffler and is quite quiet. I've run that exact muffler on my last two galants and have been very happy.

i'm running 3" turbo back with only a 3" magnaflow race series muffler. its not too loud.. although when i'm standing on the gas pedal it does have a decent roar to it. i havent been pulled over yet though. i think if you use a magnaflow and a cat, it would be fine
dont use a flowmaster!

Rob you have heard the galant. it's bot a full 3" turbo back with a high flow cat and a magnaflow. not sure if you think it's too loud.

<--- Full 3", no cat, maganflow muffler with 4" outlet...
Exhaust is quiet compared to most aftermarket when at idle and cruise....You can still tell its not stock, but it doesnt annoy the crap out of other cars and cops when your just driving...
When you go WOT or go into boost tho, you get the full effect of a full 3" turbo-back...
I dont know what kind of muffler it is, it came with the buschur racing exhaust

I vote you keep your exhaust and put a silencer in it. That's what I had to do with the Talon to keep "The Man" off my back. Makes it sound like a giant exhaust leak at the back of the car but at least it keeps the noise down. Leave it in for in town driving or take it out for those spirited jaunts in the country.

Or you can go my route. Make the exhaust nice and quiet, then install an electronic cutout before all the BS. Nice and quiet until you hit that switch, then HOLYMUTHEROFGOD that's loud!
