I need a good place to get some 2 1/2 and 3" 16 gauge aluminized steel tubing. Any recommendations?
Hoerr Racing

3" U bend for $24.75
Internet is fine, but most places seem to gouge on shipping, $13 u bend with $9 shipping.

I emailed that company today. He must give a bigger discount the more you buy. It was $16 to ship $27 worth of pipe ( 2 pieces if 3" pipe).
So I assume the pipe was good quality?

Thanks for the offer Asiankid. But, I'm trying to make up some pipes to sell to raise $$ for next year purchases. So to make it profitable, I need to weld it myself and get the pipe as cheap as possible.
I've been selling EGR blockoff and PDA mount kits, but there not a ton of profit there.

best automotive in pekin sells full sticks of stainless steal piping 16 gauge in any size for $100. he has a bender, but it is not mandral. he is a awsome reasonable dude. he could bend the whole stick into the bends you need so you just have to cut and bolt in, and he can also weld. if you are interested his shop is located behind the little aids bicicle shop in pekin. let me know if you are interested b/c i have a friend who might be able to hook you up a little.

I've got a Century 125GL MIG. Just got it a couple months ago. I thought it was best to TIG Stainless?? Guess I'll have to did out the manual and check.
What gauge does the electrical conduit come in? I didn't think it would come in 3", but I guess industrial application would require it. I'll have to check into it.

Let me know what you need and we'll see whaty we can do!
After searching around, I ordered a couple of 3" J pipe from Mandrel-Bending-Solutions for $40 shipped, so I should be making some prototypes up next week.

you can weld stainless with a mig. you have to get different sheilded gas for it and different wire but you can weld with a mig. they do have 3" conduit at springfield and i think it is about as thick as normal exhaust pipe. i not exactly sure what that is. i put it on a 95 chevy truck of mine.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I can't spend another $100+ bucks (another tank rental and gas) to weld stainless. At least not now. Good info for later though!

I've welded stainless with pure argon with no problems so if thats what you have you're good to go.

carbon steel uses a 75/25 mix so he would need a new tank
