Like the title says. Saturday's the Autocross school, which is full and wasn't announced here, sorry. Sunday is a test-n-tune.

These events are a bit looser. Often there are more than just 3-5 runs. Some folks come out, run a bit, sit and make adjustments for a while, then run some more, etc.

If you do go, please don't forget to take a shift on the course as a courseworker - pick up those cones for someone else cuz someone's gonna pick up the ones you trash!

Current forecast is 40 degrees at 10am, 51 by 3pm and a bit breezy (15mph winds) - but SUNNY!

It'd be nice to get out and hell it around an autocross course, wouldn't it? After all this crap weather!

The event is at the Rantoul Aviation Center. All yer info is here: http://www.ccsportscarclub.org/ccscc-soloii.html

Regional SCCA info is here: http://www.cir-scca.org/

They were taking 30 peeps as students...

I know it may be more expensive, but the Evolution School is AWESOME! AND they put it on nationwide throughout the year.

Here's their website: http://autocross.com/evolution

Start with their stage one. I'm looking into attending a stage 2 being held in Milwaukee 7/5.

The class the Chicago region puts on is awesome as well: http://www.scca-chicago.com/solo/index.html

The regional classes, like the on in Rantoul and the one in Chicago are done EARLY in the year. You really have to look for them early and get in right away. I've done the Chicago school and the Evolution school and can't recommend them highly enough!

the class in rantoul was crazy!!!!!

Saturday it was raining and 30 degrees....
track conditions sucked pretty bad especially in the traction limited 3rd gen RX7 (on slicks) that I was piloting.
the good thing about it was that I probably learned more about car control than I have ever before.

Sunday was a great day, warmer (40-50 or so) with clear skys and a dry track..... wow what some traction will do for your times

my times for the days:

my fastest time for saturday was 67.2xx (clean run too)

my fastest timee for sunday was 54.003 (1 cone)
my fastest clean run was 54.2xx (clean)

the fastest run of the day was a 49.xxx by a 350Z that was just flat out mean... followed up by a very fast EVO with a 50.2xx

lots of seat time too.... sunday I ran at least 14 runs and sunday I got 12 runs

normally for an autoX you will get 12 runs in a weekend, so good deal!!!

Loads of fun!!!!!
