Today was a great day for those who were able to come out to race!

We didn't have that many people show-up, but thankfully we had just enough to cover the cost of the track. Plus it made for a wide open track for as many runs as anyone could possibly fit in.

Rev Hard showed up with a surprise set of gift certificates for the winner's of each class. Thanks go out to Trent and the others of Rev Hard. They have a shop up in the Quad Cities with a brand new AWD dyno. They were there running there 600+ HP 2G DSM. Very cool and they are going to help make next years SCDC!

I also met up with the owner of Midwest Turbo(?) Is this right Trent? Sorry I didn't remember everyones names. He is also interested in helping us with next years SCDC.

Racer's Edge Midwest made a showing with the Big Red Dodge. AJ ran a 14 second pass with the Nitrous on the 7000+ pound rig! It sounds like Racers edge may help out with next years SCDC as well.

We ran three competition classes... No one showed up for the Quick 16.

Street Stock FWD:
George Jackman won 1st place in his Silver SRT-4 with a best of 12.178 @ 118mph
Josh Gale placed 2nd with his silver SRT-4 with a best of 13.374 @ 109mph
Seth Score earned an honorable mention in his 2G DSM with a best of 13.743 @ 106

Seth ended up popping an axle seal but he was a good sport and had a nice looking 2G. George's SRT-4 sounded wicked every time he ripped off the line with his fatties on front.

Street Stock AWD/RWD:
Kapoosh won 1st place with a best of 13.261 @ 105 in his new EVO against Chris Lang's 92 Eagle Talon that hit 13.935 @ 102 in that run. Chris placed second.
AJ red lighted in his Big red Dodge in the first round against Kapoosh. Chris eaked out a VERY close race against Geoff Burns in the first round, winning by a nose while running a13.066 @ 108.

Street Modified:
George Bohren - aka: Streetsweeper took 1st place in his 90 Eagle Talon with a 12.107 @ 121 against the only other competitor in this bracket Nilite Sardis with his super charged 2003 350Z. Both were beautiful cars!

All first place winners received a $100 gift certificate from AMS as well as a $100 dyno tuning gift certificate from Rev Hard.

All second place finishers received a $50 gift certificate from AMS and a $50 dyno tuning gift certificate from Rev Hard.

The Street Sweeper crew showed up with about fourteen crew members and spectators. That is one of the cleanest DSM's I've seen in a long time! Good job guys.

We had a couple bad rides knocking out 8.60 quarter mile passes. One was a yellow Fox body Mustang and the other was a 4th generation Firebird. Wicked Rides!

Little Danny was there in his white and blue Fox Body. He ran good on the motor and excellent on nitrous! I lucked out and beat him on one of his slower motor passes!

I made eleven passes in the talon. I never broke out of the 12's but I did get a new best and CURRENT quarter mile time 12.03 @ 118mph! There are a number of issues that I need to work out, but the good news is that I beat the snot out of the car eleven times and it made every run and I drove it home afterwards!!! I've been waiting for this day for quite a while.

Thanks to everyone that came out to enjoy the great day of racing we had. And special thanks goes out to the Cordova Dragway crew who always makes us feel welcome and keeps things running smoothly and professionally. And finally, thank you to AMS and Rev Hard for the racing awards! Oh and thanks to Mitsu90 and NCGalant for helping me get my Talon running good enough for SCDC.

Don't forget I am renting the track again on July 29th for Slo Pny Drag Day.

Hey thanks for the congratz! The car was running like crap the best i got out of it was 11.6, very dissapointed, but what the hell its the first time out and the car wasnt leaving for shizit most of the day. Towards the end of the day i got it to leave real hard and was making for good passes, but the brand new clutch would slip up top real bad. We will get it fixed,go to the dyno, and go get some 10s! All in all it was a good day, it's awsome getting to run as much as you want with no wait. BTW. Congrats and your new best time.

StreetPSI Racing!

Congrats Marcus on your new best time. I kno it is not 12 seconds or anything but I ran my first 5 times down the track today and I started off like shit but ended good in my book. Still have some practicing to do until I get comfortable but hey I got over my fear of running it down the track. Here are my time: run 1 r/t .427 1/4 18.219; run 2 r/t 750 1/4 17.411; run 3 r/t .514 1/4 15.94; run 4 r/t .541 1/4 16.024 and my 5th and best run of the day r/t .645 1/4 15.556. One more thing I need to add before I get off here: I KICKED MY HUSBAND ASS IN TIMES TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!! (that would be mitsu90 for those who dont kno)

it was most defiantly an interesting day first 2 runs I blew the same intercooler pipe off,couldn't find 2nd gear all day, damn battery took a shit, my cooling fan kept blowing 30amp fuses,

it was slower than my best of 14.76 from last year, but for what i was working with I am pleased. after the event was over I noticed my uicp and bov was stuck in my shift linkage and would not allow it to got into 2nd or reverse.

the highlight of my day was getting my wife to finally make a few passes, and yes she did in fact run faster than me.

Well at first I was not happy at all with my times today but the more I thought about it the more I realized that it wasn't all that bad considering for all intents and purposes the car is completely stock as it sits right now (see my project thread if you need details) since I haven't installed any of the parts I have bought the last few weeks.

Had a good time Sun Marcus, as always! Nice to see the Talon run a good number!

My best run of the day was 12.79 @108, nothing great but had a lot of fun. Had a bunch of good 60's but I think the air was a little warm for the little 14b.

The first race with Geoff was fun and worth the price of admission! Especially since we were both BSing before the run. He tree'ed me with a .008 RT to my .159 and then I spun out of the hole, setting up a run down. The differance at the top end was .0012 according to the timeslip. That's fun! We had some more fun reliving the race afterword!

The final against Kapoosh was great until I missed 3rd....driver error is a bitch!

We had a good day only broke a shift cable

there is so much more left in the talon its crazy and i am just learning to drive this twin disk and learning the no lift to shift, its all new to me so I faired pretty well.

As for Streetsweeper, well 1st day out, theres alot more there, clutch took a shit, but was a bad clutch choice by me...As Trent stated we will be interested in helping out next year, in anyway we can, and lets get the turn out to be the best...Hopefully we can see each other in Ohio at the SHOOTOUT...Thanx everyone for the compliments on the Talon.

Yea we will deffinentaly be interested in helping anyway we can to get a big event going for next year. But best time to date is 11.5@121.2 mph with a 1.87 60ft (last years set up). We still have some bugs to work out on the dyno on the new set up, and we will get you another 10 second ET for that list.

For a much larger turnout next year I suggest not doing it in mid/late may because SO many people had high school/college graduations to attend.....

I had already been talking to others about trying to get a date in the first part of June for next year. The problem is, small time rentals like this one have to take a back seat to the big shows. And after spending the last five years trying to find suitable dates, there aren't many left that don't line up with a holiday or other conjested time of the year.

I'll work on it though.

I think the date was perfect, maybe even a little earlier in may if possible. Shit goes the fastest in the spring and fall. and usually buy June im not up for racing anything but at night because the temp is to hot. So i personally think the timing is just right.

It could be earlier as well. Gotta be careful though, because I've been nailed by Mother's Day before too!
