Ferrari 550 Maranello.... it has it all.... V-12, sexy lines, sexy sound, fast, turns well, brakes well

for now I drive the Blazer, the Cavalier and the DSM

JBone
Dream Car: Saleen S7 Twin Turbo or a Ferrari F40

Realistically: Either really pinching the pennies and anteing up for the new BMW 135i next spring or just throw some money on a Nissan RWD vehicle (240Z, 240SX, or 350Z)

Driving right now: 4" dropped S-10

Thinking about doing a stock floor body drop with air bags and dropping in a Turbo'd ecotec.

...OR build a Chevy II with a fuel injected big block!!

So many damn options

Damn these poor investment options. I told a buddy I couldn't wait to get a sweet ass job and start working on my truck. To which he reminded me that most people invest their money in a house... Pff

This is a good thread Spy. Mine is a newer Aston Martin. When I get time I'll post up a pic. Drop dead gorgeous! biggthumpup.gif

Dream car would have to be either a Porsche 911 turbo or the Bugatti Veyron for the sheer engineering genius behind it.

Within budget possibilities, I wouldn't mind checking out either a new C6 or possibly the Skyline GTR when it makes it stateside. If that proves to be too much I may just have to see about picking up a used Evo IX unless the X sneaks up and starts grow on me like cars sometimes do.

This poses an interesting debate. Realistically, I'd like to be able to afford a new Camaro. Not too bad in a straight line. Unrealistically, not sure. Probably something like a road race ready supercharged Vette Z06.

I'm sticking with my original choice.

Nate is right though, the Bugatti is definitely an engineering masterpiece and quite possibly (since it is rumored that VW loses money on every one that they sell) the best that ever will be.

Srsly though spy, don't do a fd-ls1. I wanted to do that and you've got enough fast cars for three people already. Don't be greedy, man.

Ferrari 550 Maranello....

Ben, I'm sorry to say this (or maybe glad), but the Maranello wasn't very impressive when I drove it. I'm not saying it wasn't nice, because it was very very nice, but I'd rather have my stockish evo8 than that 'supercar'. ymmv.

A lot of these supercars really can't trump the performance of your average modified car. They just take it one step further and try to refine the performance and make it tame, fwiw. Chances are, if you don't wear depends undergarments or a hairpiece, you'd rather have a tuner-car than a super-car, since one of the first things most of us would do to a super-car is f- it all up with a CAI, MBC, or some other hack or mod.

I mean, I can seriously picture Spy adding a fiberglass 'scoop' to the hood of a Viper just like he did that POS red FWD DSM or me removing some perceived useless feature like cruise control or the sound system in the name of 'weight savings'.

Let's face it guys, we're sick, twisted individuals.

never drove one... but I do have to say that you are definately right about being sick and twisted and probably f*cking it all up with more boost or removing things to "enhance performance"

my dream car right now would be anything I could competitively race wheel-2-wheel... I could be very happy with a spec miata or spec 944. smile.gif

Mine is a mark III supra, preferably a 91-92 with a 2JZ-GTE motor swap along with quite a few mods.

6 Speed manual transmission swap.

Have to have a targa top, painted a Ferrari orange.

Here are some pics of my favorite Aston Martins. The last one; the V12 Vanquish, is the one I would love to pimp. biggrin.gif
