So at a party last night a buddy of mine makes the mistake of being a good conversationalist and asks me exactly how much is getting modified on the AWD. Me, "well probably more down the road. For now I'm just trying to get it on the road with...
Engine- Rebuilt. Balance Shafts removed. Ported head, Ralliart headgasket. Undrive pulley
Drivetrain- GVR4 tranny. Fidanza flywheel, ACT 2600, shortened '91 shifter. Solid shifter and cable bushings. Stiffened motor mounts
Induction- 20G Turbo. Extrude honed intake. FMIC, 144 intake, K&N. Apexi AVC-D boost controller. 2G MAF
Exhaust- Ported 2G manifold, 3" turboback
Fuel- 720cc injectors. Walbro 255, Bosch inline pump to supplement. SAFC to manage it.
Spark- NGK plugs and wires, Optima battery
Exterior- Fiberglass hood and some lightening.
Interior- Yeah, its gone. Oh wait, theres EGT, A/F, Boost, Oil pressure, Water temp, and Volt gauges (uh-oh that must add some weight)
Oh, and a 55 dry shot of nitrous for when I want to wreck it all.
Then he (remember the buddy that started the conversation) asks, "whatever happened to that 13's for $1300 goal.
"Oh yeah... Umm..."

I'd considered that but when I talked to Gabor he mentioned that they hadn't really had the clutch in any 11sec cars and he wasn't sure if it would hold. So I went ahead with the ACT. Being my first DSM, I'm a leaning towards the tried and true route with most of the modding. I'm not exactly the engineering groundbreaker.
Do appreciate the input though.

Can the SAFC do that much of a correction for your injectors? If i wanna go that big I have to get a MAF translator, ARC-2, Greddy Emanage or a Standalone!

Those injector might be overkill travis. Darryl is only running 660's in his 10 sec monster.... 550's would be plenty for your application. You might also need an aftermarket FPR to make sure those suckers can get all the fuel they need.

Yeah, they probably are overkill but the price was right. From what I read the SAFC can tune it down, I'll just have a crappy idle. As long as it doesn't stall outright I'm not really concerned with idle quality. Also, Daryl is running race gas and additional pressure in his monster. I'm thinking that for pump gas, nitrous and reg. pressure it might be a good choice. We'll see how it pans out when it's up and running (or crawling/limping down the quarter).
Oh yeah, just realized I forgot to add the balance shaft removal and stiffened motor mounts above. And the list grows again.
