Compared to the price of a Bugatti, any Supercar that already has super car handling and brakes would seem to be a bargain. Add bigger turbos and Walla!

The October 2007 MotorTrend researched going flat out and trying to reproduce extremely high acceleration numbers and top speeds. It was amazing what all goes into determining what can help or hurt those numbers. A lot of it is the whole aerodynamics issue: Sealing off the doors, headlamps, even lower stances, etc. I've read that Bugatti is losing money on every one sold. The amount of engineering and production does not equal the price being sold. That's why so many believe there will never be anything that can reach it. You have to be completely hell bent on taking it over and totally prepared to lose your a$$ making it.

As a side note: I still think the S7 Twin Turbo has been sorely underestimated in potential

The only car I know of that can take it would be a Hennessey Venom 1000 Twin Turbo SRT Coupe. Here's the numbers on it:

POWER:
1000 hp @ 5000 rpm
1100 lb-torque @ 3800 rpm

0-60: 2.9
0-100: 5.8
0-150: 10.9
0-200: 19.6

TOP SPEED: 255

Here's the kicker. It only costs 225k!
While the Bugatti Veyron costs 1.7m
You could buy 7.5 Venom 1000's for that price

Difference in price will probably show up in quality. Everything I've heard or read about Hennessey's Viper's tells me they generally have shorter lifespans due to part destruction. The Veyron while surely not cheap to maintain should hold to the abuse for a longer period of time.

True, but unless I was a billionair I would have to take the Viper. Since I'm only a thousandair at times, I can't even afford to think about either one.

I was just watching Top Gear on BBC last night. They were running the Veyron at VW's test track in Germany and they maxed it out at a top speed of 253mph! Freakin' crazy.

Any time you have over 1000hp charging through an engine there's gonna be a few problems, and until there have been more made there will be some kinks in the Hennessey Viper, as they'v only built 16 of the 1000 hp versions and anyhow Hennessey backs it up with a 24000 mile warranty.
