Well I got a dsmlink second hand and when it came in it doesn't have dsmlink inscribed on the chip and the connector on the end is red instead of black. I already made a claim with paypal to take care of it but I guess is there anything I can do with this. I don't condone using counterfeit stuff but can I use so that I don't feel I got completely burnt on the deal. The guy I bought it from I also bought a few other items and they were normal and fine and exactly what I ordered. Do you think maybe he didn't know it was a fake setup. I guess I just want to know what I should do to this thing. I will drive up to Michigan to beat his ass if I have to.

If it's exactly the same and works...I wouldn't carewhat it was called personally. That's just me.

The downside I see is that you will not been given access to DSMlink online forum if it's a counterfeit. I beleive that you could get access if it's a real licence...even used.

Well I tried to call the kid a few times and no luck, he hasn't responded to the paypal claim yet. I have his parents information and i'm about ready to give one of them a call and see what they think about their son selling conterfeit copies of a software package. I'll give him a while to see if he responds.

I understand how you feel.. I'd be pissed too, but like you said maybe he didn't know he had a counterfeit copy.
