I am also surpirised at the outcome of that run. The 1st STI pulled ahead at the beginning and never looked back. Sickening!

A very subjective evaluation. Quite a bit is based on the overall driver's experience and the driver's experience with the particular car he is driving.

Motor Trend actually found the Evo X to be 1 sec faster around the twisties than the new STI. Same driver for both cars.

I agree on on counts. Here is another comparison that gives the nod to the WRX for individual tests but when they are all put together at the track, the Evo wins. Actually the Evo IX beats them all soundly.

Keichi Tsuchiya is a more famous (and probably better) driver than the others in the video. That could explain why the STi took the win.

Not enough of a difference between any of the cars to really draw any solid conclusions, but it was a good video, Spy.
