Since the Buscher post about Magnus-EVO intakes arose, Spy and I have had a few discussions about DSM intakes. In particular, Buscher's post made me wonder if Magnus's and more importantly, my FRH intake manifold were helping or hurting performance.

A quick search with the DSMCentral Google Search option netted some good info. It appears that a group of DSM owners got together and tested air flow numbers on many popular intakes. THey did a good job in my book, by using a common test mule without altering any tuning in between. They also just tested air flow at a detuned HP rather than trying to tune the N-th degree out of each manifold. Well...I'll let you read it instead of re-writing it. Here is the Link

Sadly the FRH intake test didn't pan out, but they had nothing but good to say about it. These are the same type of comments that I got in other searches.

I doubt I could find it now, but I remember back when AMS was selling the FRH intake manifolds (before they started building their own) they did a back to back comparison with a stock 1G manifold. I remember it showing gains throughout the hp and torque curves, with peak gains around 20 to 25 hp. Don't remember what the set up on the car was...
