Alright, ive been having some probs with my gsx. i went to r and t's today to see if he could tune it on the dyno... and hes talking about taking the transfer case off and running it with rwd?? ive been lookin around at diff posts and everyones talking about the VCE. some people said its alright to do it with out it. some say its horrible on your tranny. any thoughts on this???

AWD4Kicks dynos his car with the transfer case off. Most people on here do that. With all wheels on a dyno you have a better understanding of all the drivetrain loss, but you can still tune just the same on a 2 wheel dyno. Darryl Hudson also tunes on 2 wheels, at least he did before he got to the point where the wheels were slipping ON the dyno.

You need the viscous coupling eliminator (VCE) to prevent damage to the trans. I beleive without it the constant slipping, since there is no power to the rear tires, smoke the fluid in the coupling. Darryl has one and I'm pretty sure Kicks does too.

You then run the fwd tires on the dyno.

This is correct.

or buy a JDM switchable tranny and Tcase.

Welded center diff does the same thing, but if you don't have it or a VCE don't try a two wheel dyno.
