OK here's the 411, I blew the tranny on my 99 GST, and a freind of mine has a 93 eclipse that he's selling for scrap parts. (blown engine) He says the tranny is in great shape, infact he just bought the tranny (new) thats in it about 5 months ago. So can I put his tranny in my 99 eclipse? The real question is: can you do a 7 bolt to 6 bolt conversion? I may have the bolt to year model messed up, so please forgive me if I do.

nope, his tranny will not work in your car!

Its a motor mount issue. The roll stops were on the engine in the 1Gs and on the tranny in the 2Gs. If you put his tranny in his car you'll have nowhere to mount those two motor mounts.

there is "how to" on galantvr4.org on putting a 2g tranny in a galant.. why couldn't you reverse the proses and use a 1g in a 2g??

ncgalant is right.... it is a motormount issue, not a engine to trans issue.... the 1993 Eclipse has a 7 bolt, but a 6 bolt... you said that you might not have the model years right??? this is real important, cause in mid year '92 they went from the 6 bolt to the 7 bolt.
