Just wondering, i need to buy a new fuel pump. Would it be a better idea just to buy a new walbro 255 or the stock from mitsubishi?? Im curently stock probably will be for a while while i work my financial situation. and have never really gotten into fuel components to much, so i thought i would get a second opinion. Would there be any downsides to installing the 255 on my stock setup??

I don't know what the stockers cost new, but I know you can get a new Holley 255lph from summit for about $170. I don't think it would cause any ill effects on your car with the stock setup.

If you are interested, I have a used stocker that I pulled out of my parts car.

ive been looking at a few on ebay only 100 for a new 255, thats probably what im going to do since i figure mitsu will charge more than that for a new one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2412635324

I don't have a lot of first hand experience but from what I've read, a lot of the whining and vibration noise people complain about has been from improper install that turns the gas tank into a resonator. I know Nate is does or used to run one. Any noise from yours?

As far as stocker pricing, I'm pretty sure you can pick one up from someone on here pretty darn cheap. If Rob can't fix you up, my stocker is coming out in the next few days so it'll be for sale as well.

Get a used MK4 Supra fuel pump from www.supraforums.com 255lph and $100 plus, no noise.

Ok, I stand corrected on the noise coming from improper install then.

Yes, the Walbro's are noisy, but they are hella cheap for the massive amount of fuel the flow. Alot cheaper than either the Supra or the Holley brand new. To tell you the truth I can't really hear mine, but that's probably because my exhaust is so damn loud.

I can't hear the Walbro in my Buick unless I've got my head underneath the back of the car right by the gas tank. It must have something to do with the design of the DSM gas tanks and the sound deadening material around it.
