Vicary report

Ran pretty good...right up to the point where my rear caliper locked up! Luckily Darryl and Susan where there to give me a ride home. I'll head back in the morning to fix her.

Best run was a 12.40 @ 109.X. The race gas chip was back in and the car was running pretty good. I was working up on increasing the boost and leaning her out, I guess I'll have to wait until next year to see how fast she would have gone.

I got a call from Josh last night. He got four runs in and was in the 10's on every run in his Turbocharged Fox body Mustang. The last two times he was out he got a best of 11.04 and 11.40 respectively. Since then he went back to a 3.55:1 rear gear ratio, new slicks screwed to the rims and upgraded his transmission with dog tooth gears for No-lift shifting.

He ran a 10.87 right of the trailer and then hit a best of 10.80 and a 1.5 60 ft time. All runs were at about 126mph and all runs were on pump gas. Very respectable for a quiet V8 that runs the exact same set-up on the street save for the slicks.

I heard of some others runs. Who else can report first hand on any of the other ET's and MPH's?

No, I forgot it was this past weekend. I didn't even go.
kapoosh
Ran a 12.6@111 6 times. All on a 1.9+ 60' The one time i launched well and got a 1.79 60' i missed 4th gear and ran a 12.7@110 sad.gif.

Overall I was hoping for low 12's, guess i'll have to wait until next time.

No slicks, just radials, pump gas..full interior

No idea what tire pressure even was on the tires, lol

Unfortunately I was fiddlejacking with the tune after a few passes and I broke a shift linkage, no idea why, but its back on the road now

Very nice Andy... Thats pretty sick!
I wish I could of been there this year, I really did miss out seeing everyone do so well.

That car of Josh's... Its just inspiring is all I can say. Way to go Slopny... he should changes his name to PISTpny, or FKNFASTpny, or TURBOpny... Mainly because if it is running in the 10's... Its far from slow!

Hey Andy...

Are you running the manual transmission again?
When you say radials, I assume you mean drag radials of some sort? That's a damn good 60 ft. for drag radials!

Great run... Is that a new personal best?

Yep, im back to the ol' OEM 5spd stuff........i broke a shift linkage at V-day but that was an easy fix....

Regarding the radials, yes, Mickey Thompson drag radials. These are the tires I run every day......they're about a year old now. They're 275/45/17's

This is a new personal best.....

The unfortunate part is the car was breaking up in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and I found out last wednesday night that the timing sync between the AEM and the motor was completely off (by about 15 degrees) I believe by fixing that issue I found ~50-100rhwp. I went out and drove the car, logged it, and going off the logs I accelerated through 3rd and 4th gear, 1.2 seconds quicker than I did on my 11.1 pass, haha!

I cant wait to get back to the track, I really hope I still have a chance to get back before the year is over...

Yeah, when I seen James on Sunday he told me about the 15 degrees your timing was off. I don't doubt your rwhp estimate. I've seen significant HP gains on our 4 cylinder DSM's just by correcting the timing from a 2-4 degree retard issue.

Get back out there. I want to see what she's got now. biggthumpup.gif

Its been my experience on the dyno that my motor typically makes 10rwhp per degree of advanced timing in its 'sweet spots'
