2003 Yellow Mazdaspeed Protege for sale. 18,500 miles. Crank walked on her, so it needs a shortblock, thrust bearing damaged... Block was eaten up a bit too.

Clean title, clean interior. Exterior has a couple blemishes here and there, all pictured. Nothing too terrible, but I injured my back and am not going to pay someone else to fix her. I would put the interior at a 10/10.. Not a smoker, never was, never will be. It looks like new inside.

Exterior has a couple of nicks and scrapes here and there, and one blemish about the size of my thumb, above the driverside tailight.

Started to pull the motor, parts removed are in the trunk.. I got a quote from Mazda on a new shortblock for somewhere close to 1600bucks plus shipping.
No mods to speak of except the turbo timer, cobalt boost gage(autometer) and the hoaky a/f narrow band gage.

Price: $6000 Located in Peoria Illinois

If I had $6k I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Or put cash down on a Cobalt SS T/C smile.gif

Wow, crankwalk after 18K ? Doesn't Mazda's warranty cover that? Even if it is out of warranty time-wise, I'd still call them and see what they say. I had a transmission in a Chrsyler go out that was out of warranty mileage-wise but not time-wise and they still covered it. Here's the Mazda Customer Assistance number if you want to give it a try: 1-800-222-5500.

Good looking car, though.
