Does anyone know anyplace around here that sells Redline Oils. I am finally getting my clutch put in and while that is being done I might as well change all my fluids since I've been wanting to do it anyway and I want to use all redline

I would not recommend the Redline transmission fluid. From what I've heard from the Getrag transmissions on the 3000GT/Stealth it will make it shift better at first, but supposedly at the cost of the brass-composit synchronizers. Other cars which use heavier-made synchronizers don't wear as fast. I would say go with GM Synchromesh. I drained the Redline oil from my Stealth and tried GM Synchromesh and it was much better I thought. Do what you wish but Redline was once thought to be a miracle product by the 3/S group, but now it's pretty much been abandoned by the majority.

Thanks for the info.........What does everyone else think?

I'm sold on GM Synchromesh myself.

Another thumbs up for GM Synchromesh, although if your tranny already shifts well you might want to mix it at about 70/30 with some synthetic GL-4 gear oil. Also, there is a Penzoil Synchromesh that is the same thing as GM Synchromesh.

Is it cheaper to by as Penzoil rather than the $9/bottle at the GM dealer? If so where at?

I think I've seen it at Autozone before. I haven't actually needed any tranny fluid for a while biggrin.gif

cool.gif I found it for under $5 per bottle at Autozone. GM and Penzoil say it's not the same thing, but "Synchromesh" is a trademarked name, like "Corvette." If Hyundai made a Corvette they would get sued and shut down and since Penzoil and GM both continue to make a product with the same name I am fairly confident that the two fluids are identical and most likely made by Penzoil (for GM). It just doesn't make sense that they would both have a different product with the same name. My vote goes Synchromesh. My nearly 94,000 mile old 6-speed Getrag in the Stealth likes it and shifts fairly smoothly all things considered cool.gif
