After my initial review of my new external dump O2 housing not doing the job, I thought I should offer my most current opinons of it.
I purchased this special O2 housing in an attempt to control boost creep. It does not control boost creep, and may only be able to do so if I get the larger waste gate flapper door. BTW-Does anyone remember where I can get that piece? It is a DYI part isn't it?
Now for the good news. When I ran my new best 1/4 mile times at Cordova last Sunday I was very surprised. I have run 112 Octane race gas before and had the boost turned up to rediculous levels. However, before my car would only go faster up to 18psi, then it would begin falling off again.
The only difference between then and now besides the weather, is the used engine and this external dump O2 housing! I was a little leary at saying anything bfore, because I wanted to make sure that I wasn't confusing the extra exhaust noise with performance. After many trials, I'm convinced that my boost comes on quicker and harder that it did before the O2 housing swap. I remeber saying that my car doesn't kick in when boost comes on like Nates AWD. Now it does...and it feels GOOD!
