Well, the block is out of the shop now(just a hot tank and hone), and I should have all of my parts by Friday. The plan is an all-out weekend marathon of engine rebuilding, hopefully finishing up sometime on Monday.

Does anybody have any tips for pulling the engine? Like where in the heck do you hook up the engine hoist? I'm planning on dropping the tranny first, then pulling the engine out mostly whole.

I run a chain with hooks diagonally from the intake manifold bracket near the TB to the exhaust manifold/power steering bracket (the one with a big hole in it). If you don't have the intake manifold bracket, put a longer bolt in the intake manifold bolt hole closest to the TB and use that. If you don't have the exhaust manifold/power steering bracket use the bolts that attach the driver side engine mounting bracket near the power steering pump.

I've got a load leveler and engine hoist you could borrow if you need them.

I once put the engine into my GSX with the tranny and all accessories attached (well, the accessories that I kept). It was definately a tight fit, but I did it myself.

I had a lot better luck pulling the engine and tranny at the same time. I hooked up the chain to 2 head bolts on oppisite sides so the tranny sat lower the just lifted it out. I had the head off to though so i had lot of room to work. Where did you take your block? I just got mine into kalinas monday for a hot tank and bore. they said 2 weeks . Oh well good luck!

Does your car have ABS? I don't see any way of getting engine and tranny out together with that big honkin ABS unit in the way. It only takes like an hour and a half to pull the tranny anyway. Practice makes perfect

That load leveler might be handy, but I think the good old chain will work well enough.

Damn i wish i would have known that earlier. No my car does not have ABS. Forgot about that good for nothing ABS shit. Even with it in it might be possible to pull the engine with enough of an angle while pulling it out. Maybe at like a 25 - 35% angle you could adjust it so that it wont get in the way while you move it around???? I dont know much about the abs system so i may be wrong? It might be easier in the end just to drop the tranny first.

Speaking of Engine swaps I would like to know if I can bolt the Cyclone 2.0 to my stock 93 auto tranny or do I need to swap linkage,master cylinder and clutch pedal for a manual
