Its the part that makes the tach work. It mounts to the distributer by 1 bolt i belive and a wireing harness attaches to it. I have no idea what its called (neither does shottenkirk) but its just like a little module with a hookup on it. Im not sure what it does , but it has something to do with the tach because mines stuck at zero. Its not a big deal i guess, just an annoyance. Maybe someone out there knows what im talking about. I had to get a whole new distrubuter a while back and forgot to take the old one off. Its for a 94 1.8 laser.

Also does anyone know if someone has a 92 GSX or TSi for sale in decent shape?

94Laser,
you could probably get a hold of your local junkyard and see if they have any 1.8L eclipses in their yard. Surprisingly ( rolleyes.gif ) , they have a lot of 1.8L cars there. If you're ever in town, you should get a hold of spy to see his cars, they're pretty nice.

Spy, you should put some pics of your cars on the site or pm them to 94Laser.

Actually JBone, i tried that, the main one we have says they dont carry stuff for a car that old. dry.gif yeah right they just didnt want to mess with it. I was just curious if anyone would have one laying around, its not a huge deal just an annoyance i guess. I got some engine issues to take care of with it, new water pump, head gasket, and head redone (smokes on startup and ticks loud). I will probably be up in the general area in a few weeks though.

I thought about going older than 92, but the pop up headlights dont really do much for me. I will probably just keep the laser as a college car when i get everything straightened out with it. Anyone out there try to mod a 1.8? LOL

What is the big difference between a 1.8 and 2.0? I know the head is different, but i dont think that you need to change the exhaust manifold in the swap. So does that mean that a 2.0 header or the 2.0 turbo exhaust manifold may work on the 1.8 motor? Hmm a Turbo 1.8, talk about a sleeper. ph34r.gif
