Does anybody have any idea what I can try to get this damn control arm off? I got the passenger side off fairly easy with a ball joint separator. When I got going on the driver side it just wouldn’t come off. I’ve done everything, the joint separator, C clamps on the top of the screw part, crow bars, a whole can of wd-40, hammering the shit out of it, and even torching the damn thing. What is left that I can get this thing off with. I would just cut the control arm off but I need to put a new one in and cant break everything in the vicinity of the joint. Please any info would really help. Thanks

I used to have a hell of a time getting lower control arms off until I realized that it's best that you hit the spindle with the sledge instead of the control arm itself.

I had a hell of a time with mine also,
but the ball joint seperator worked, eventually,
get mad at it,,, it will come apart just all of a sudden.

I ended up calling the dealership and they replaced it under recall warranty. Check to see if the recall has been done to your car and if not then take it in and have it done for free. You have a 2nd gen right?

Nope 1G. Its a 92. Also im waiting to drop the engine back in sometime soon and most of the suspension parts have been removed. So its not really going anywhere

. The ball joint seperator im using has a 1 or 1 1/2 inch incline on it and it goes all the way in on the joint

. I even got out a big axe and used the back side (time for a paint touch up!) and it wouldnt bust off! well i guess ille just keep messing with it and see what happens.
