Well I still dont have this damn clutch installed on my TSi AWD. I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could help me out sometime next week. Unfortunately I still need a flywheel but I cant get ahold of either person that told me that they have one. Then I have to get it resurfaced and this damn thing in. I've got the pressure plate, a new throwout bearing and clip, tranny fluid, jackstands, and a jack. Now all I need is a resurfaced flywheel, an alignment tool, and some help. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

All of my flywheels are at my parent's house in Quincy, which is kind of far away. You should be able to get the clutch alignment tool for like $5 at Advance Auto. I have like 3 of those things now. I might have some time to help out some weekend.

Have you considered just getting a lightened flywheel of some sort? I did it mainly as a quick way to get a perfectly machined flywheel. RRE's lightened flywheel is fairly reasonable at under $200.

Dude I'm so far behind on my engine transplant, I can't even think about much else. I'm sure you can still pick up a fly wheel from someone though.

Get on it..It's not that tough. ph34r.gif

Thanks guys. I just picked one up from Darryl last nite and got to see the 9 second beast! smile.gif Anyways, the flywheel will be going to the shop later today to pick up probably on monday, and I am about ready to order a disc which will be here on monday or tuesday. I will probably take thursday off of work and try to do teh swap by myself. But, I need some suggestions on what disc to go with. Full face disc, 6-puck, or 4-puck? This is my daily driver and autocross car and occasional drag strip car. I was going to go with the full face disc, but then I noticed that the 6-puck disc is actually cheaper and thought this might be a nice compromise. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you're driving it on the street you will most likely want a full face disk.

It depends on what you are willing to put up with. If the six-puck has a sprung hub it shouldn't be too harsh. It will be harsher than a full-face though. If you are planning on putting some serious hp down with your car a pucked clutch would be good insurance. After some clutch wear AWD's do tend to slip the clutch more often. Since the tires don't spin much, something's gotta give. Next clutch job I do on my car will probably be a pucked disc of some sort, but then again its not my daily driver.

Yeah. I think I'll go with the full face disc. Thanks for the info guys.

Anybody know what The torqe specs are for the clutch assembly? 6-bolt obviously. Thanks.

What would you say is a good clutch thats not over expensive? Id like to have an Exody I think it is but seems liek it will cost too much.

Gabor's clutch, that AMS in Chicago sells, is supposed to be pretty good. Maybe someone else has one or has heard of it and can post about it. All I've heard is that it's a feramic disk, that's supposed to be comparable to the ACT 2100, only cheaper.
