I'm just seein what all is involved and how much cash i'm gonna be spendin......

I have this accent that has this little 1.x engine (its my girlfriends), but this car is such a dog.......and I was thinking that the tiberon came out with a turbo model.....what a sleeper moble.....eh cool.gif . well, is it feasable???????what do you all think, should I look for a doner car, buy a motor out a junk yard and go through it first or what????????

like I said just a thought in the back of my head.

Not that I'm a big Hyundai fanatic or anything, but I've never heard of a factory turbo Tiburon.

First let me say I would not reccomend the swap. I'm sure you'll see from the posts that are sure to follow why this is. But if you have your heart set on it, I do have all the parts on hand to make it happen.

I'll have a freshly rebuilt complete motor on hand shortly that'll be up for sale. My advice would be to pick up a turbo parts car and have it on hand for all the bits and pieces you'll need. Heck, you can pick up one of my turbo parts cars dirt cheap if you want.

Really though, the standard 'sell what you have and buy the plarform you want is sound advice'. If you want to do the swap the price tag depends alot on your ability to source parts and do the wrenching yourself. If you do want to buy the parts, shoot me a PM and we can work out the details.

Whoops, I think I misread for a sec. Thought you were talking about the 1.8 non-turbo to turbo swap for a DSM. Are you wanting to drop a 4g63 into the Tiburon or turbo the existing motor?

Guess I was way off in my above post.

no....i have the accent, and thought there was a factory turbo tiberon that i could get as a donor car for the engine swap.

Ive been following the recent tiburon happenings. Its a sweet looking car what can I say. I have never heard of a turbo charged tiburon or tuscani. The new top model is a 2.7l V6 with about 180 horse. There is a supercharger for this car made by alpine. Maybe that is what you heard. Go with the sound advice though. Get what you want, don't try and frankenstein it unless you have a lot of time, patience and money. Just my 2c's.
