Ok, i took my oil pan off and to my dismay, i noticed a hunk of metal in the bottom of my oil pan! It was a bearing to the balance shaft and that is appearantly what seized my oil pump, rippped the timing belt, and smashed the pistons into the valves. My question is what do i do now, would a balance shaft eliminator kit work, or do i have to get a new balance shaft. What the hell is the special tool i need to take some gay ass plug off the side of the block? It said in some chilton's that i need to take a plug off with special tool MDXXXXX. What the HELL? Why wouldn't they just have made a nut?

??? Are you talking about the oil pump seal on the front case? If so you can take a screwdriver and place it on the edge of the plug (not a lot of room to work with) and hit it loose, or try and turn it out with a large pair of pliers. Be careful not to bash the front case up though. I’ve gotten two off like this but I guess I would have saved a lot of time if i had the tool. That’s just to get the oil pump driven gear out of the front case, there’s a 12mm bolt in there once you break that loose. You will need to remove the plug if you want to remove the front case from the block unless you have the engine out. (you can remove the oil pump bolts 12mm and separate the gears from the rear of the case) Once you gat all that shit out i would recommend flipping a new set of balance shaft bearings in the block, leaving the top balance shaft out (plug the case) and getting the shorty balance shaft from conicelli for the oil pump. Good luck
