Me and a few of my freinds are looking at getting this rig, just seeing what you guys thought.

1982 Freightliner 700,000 with rebuild 50,000 ago

1986 Manac Fully Enclosed 6 car hauler
Double stacker with lift in back
Full length canopy
5,000 watt honda air cooled generator
work area and cabinets
Trailer was over 100,000 new

We can get the whole rig for under $20,000

Here are two of the cars that would have reserved spots.

http://media.putfile.com/Getting-it-done-till-4th-gear

The other spots would be TwinTurboZ's 300zx

a 2nd gen rx-7 383 stroker with a big shot

a 92 built civic

and a 93 single turbo rx-7

We all figured that we dont go the track alone and it would save a lot on gas and be pimp to roll like this. cool.gif

I would check it out real good! Find a diesel mechanic and have them check it out. There is a reason they are selling it that cheap. Now it is your job to find out why.

Do you relize what kind of expense this is. Tires, Diesel fuel, Maintinance, Brakes, these things are not that cheap to repair. Weigh the odds, is it worth it to buy it or just get a big 5th wheel trailer?

There is no way in hell that a fifth wheel would give you the same carrying capacity as that rig. There's a lift in the damn thing, even!!! It would be a huge cost for maintenance, but I think what's being overlooked is the fact that the rig would only be driven a handful of times every year. It's not like they'll be putting 20k miles on the thing every couple of months.

But someting HAS to be up with that thing to be able to get it for 20 large. I agree with Bud, go over it with a fine toothed comb.

I am just saying for under 20k something is wrong with it. Yes it would be nice to have, but is it worth a handful of uses?

you'd have to get a CDL to even drive the thing and I don't want to know what it would cost to insure....

seems like it would be fun, but with all the BS, it wouldn't be worth the hassle.

All the race teams that would be looking for a rig like this are going to new stuff. That is why it is going fo so cheap.

The only thing wrong with the whole rig is that the sleeper needs redone. I would do that anyways and put couches back there for more seating.

It would be registered as an RV so you you wouldn't have to have a CDL to drive it.

The only big expense would be maybe an oil change every other year. It has great tires on everything. New batteries for everything. There is so much room, i myself can pretty much do whatever needs done on the engine. If not i have 2 desil machanic friends that would help me out.

I am talking right now to a company that only insures car haulers out of tennessee so im pretty sure it is going to not be that bad. 8 months out of the year it is going to be on storage insurance.

I am not rushing into this, i am taking my time and doing my research.

See if they'll let you take an oil sample for testing if your at all worried about the "rebuilt" engine. It'll help you decide whether the engine has been well cared for.

Also, see if the tires are new or recaps. My neightbor just bought a used rig. It's blown 2 new recaps in a month. The tires cost him around $250 a piece on the road and it ripped off a fender on one side and a set of stairs of the other.

if you think that would work go for it then! it'll be a great source of comedy for the rest of us regardless of what happens.

I'd paint a big phallic mural or some other profane thing down the entire side of the trailer just for the obscene hatred it would incite from motorists.

Good or bad, advertising is advertising. Ill pay for it. If this truck goes to race events, the ad will be seen... $$$ talks, bs walks... or hops...which ever the case may be.
