ok i have the 91 laser 2.0 rs. i wanted to take out the old intake system but it has a crap load of wires and is it mas inside or the ait i don't know for sure i havn't looked it up but is there any way around that part or am i just going to have to put the k&n over it all like i had a stock housing. here is what i have done to it so far. i put the weapon r pipe on it and then i cut the housing off so it sits on the stock base. but i could get some better air flow if i could get the censors and shit out of the way. what do you guys think?

I am sure that you would get some better air flow but you would miss out on measuring the amount of air (MAF - Mass air flow) and the temperature of the air (IAT - Inlet Air Temp). That would result in the car running like crap, either too rich or too lean.
I know that some of the turbo guys put the MAF after the turbo, which is referred to as a blow through setup. Since you don't have a turbo I don't think that you have much for options outside of a standalone ECU with IAT and MAP sensor... If you want a compromise you can read some of the MAF hacking articles under Intake on http://www.vfaq.com -------------------- Fast & Furious on the outside...DSM under the hood!!!
