Not unless you changed to a blow through MAF setup. With the BOV after the MAF, the vented air is unaccounted for and will screw up the tune.

If it's a loud "woosh" noise you want when you let off the gas, try using a metal recirculation tube and a metal intake tube. The extra gush of air will resonate off the walls of the metal piping, making it more audible.

Agreed. After I got my Injen intake pipe, the BOV noises were greatly increased... even when I only had the (leaky) stock 2g BOV. Oh, but do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on some name brand intake pipe like I did. Don't get me wrong, the Injen intake is one pretty little piece, flows more air than the stock snorkel hose, and (as mentioned) sounds better too, but in all honesty its just not worth the money spent. Good economical alternatives can be found at Dejon Powerhouse or (of course) ebay.

While these guys are right and you should technically not vent metered air, I have been doing so on my evo for the past year with no ill effects and know many 2g's that are doing so.

I wanted to use a Tial BOV (best on the market IMO) with the stock MAS, and it's far too difficult to recirculate. With zero adjustments to the stock ecu calibration or tuning changes of any sort, I can report that my gas mileage hasn't changed a measureable amount (I'm talking tenths of a mile over a period of months), nor have I experienced any engine stalls or stumbles.

Maybe it's the brand of BOV since the Tial doesn't leak at idle like the stocker does sometimes, but I say just go ahead and vent if that's your preference and I wouldn't worry too much about making special adjustments for tuning.

Well thanks for all the info, I already have all the hard pipe, and I got two, count them two, GReddy Type S or what ever it is BOVs (ok before someone thinks i am a complete jackass there is one in the car and one in the garage) I am still playing with the maps, on the safc I am getting exelent results, though every once in awhile when i let off throttle, the engine will not quite stall, but real damn close, almost like i am currently venting to the atmo, my buddy have the same bov, and his was set up just like they said to do it, now I have tried to do both of mine that way and NO luck, I have had to play it by ear, and keep fiddling with it, ,anyway this whole thread was to see if i was missing somehting in the safc program that allowed me to vent to the atmo, thanks for all the info, and I will let ya know how it goes when i talk to ya next,(miami) later

I remember venting to the atmosphere on my old FWD 1G back when I was a newb and it was stock. This was on the stock 1G BOV, but regardless my car ran like crap so YMMV.
