but does anyone know the size of the socket that goes around the spindle nut. or a way to get the transfercase off without taking the axles off. I dont have that right size socket.....stupid metric system.....

Transfercase? No need to take the axles out to get the transfercase out. You need to loosen the downpipe so that it will swing out of the way, and then it's just the 5 17mm bolts that hold it to the tranny. Pry it off the tranny and slide the yoke out of the back. Careful, the transfercase is pretty heavy. I've dropped a couple on my fingers.
![]() To pull the tranny, you can take out the 2 bolts on the bottom of the front struts and swing the assembly up to pop the axles out of the tranny. -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....
