but does anyone know the size of the socket that goes around the spindle nut. or a way to get the transfercase off without taking the axles off. I dont have that right size socket.....stupid metric system.....

Spindle nuts are either 32 or 34 mm (can't remember which off the top of my head) and torqued to 100 ft. lbs. Like Rob said though its not necessary to remove them from the hub to pull the axles out from the transmission.
This is just off the top of my head but I believe, flywheel bolts are torqued to 100 ft. lbs. and the PP bolts are torqued to 14 ft. lbs. DSM transfercases aren't nearly as large as Jeep tc's. I'd say ours weigh about 20-25 pounds. |
