but does anyone know the size of the socket that goes around the spindle nut. or a way to get the transfercase off without taking the axles off. I dont have that right size socket.....stupid metric system.....

Don't bust off the 02 housing bolts that mate it to the downpipe! If you're using a stock one usually they are rusted on and we always have to use a torch to heat them up and get them off.
