Is it easy to replace the oil pump or is it a bitch? I just replaced the valves and put the head back on fellas so put that into consideration when your talking about difficult. Also, how the hell do i do the balance shafts? How do i align them or whatever? Is that a bitch? Also i dont even know if it is the oil pump, should it turn easy or hard? I have to put my fat ass into it to turn the oil pump, and there is no oil in the engine, i think for the most part it is seized up? What do you think?

Oil pump gear should take no more than moderate finger pressure to turn. In fact if you set a good oil pump up at the timing mark it will rotate slightly one way or the other depending on if it's synched correctly.
I believe akamiami removed his balance shaft in the car a long time ago, but declared that he would pull the motor before trying that again. I believe it would be the same for the oil pump because the other balance shaft comes out with it. So difficulty level is no harder that pulling the head it's just different and may include more or less bolts... -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo
