QUOTE (Larz @ Jul 22 2004, 12:46 PM)
People that don't get out tend to have a low metabolic rate. Therefore, the pudge. The body becomes accustomed to doing nothing. The body temperature of the lazy individual also drops. Also, thyroid disorders can affect metabolism. Athletes have high metabolisms. Desk jockeys don't.

That's why I included thyroid disorders. The thyroid controls your metabolism. No, it's not every overweight person's fault. It's not every skinny person's fault, either. But the man who sits around with a bag of Lay's chips and a 2 liter of soda as his breakfast is getting what he deserves. My bad, I should have been more specific. And there's nothing wrong with tig ol bittlies. Something else I'll never get is ordering a super sized big mac value meal with a diet coke. You care enough about yourself to get a diet coke, but you're still eating that fat sandwich and greazy super sized fries.
