Ok so I finally got the car I was talking about in Chicago. When I got up there I was hoping I could still tow it on the rear wheels with the rear axels out. But the driver rear tire was so off this was not an option. What I ended up doing was disconnecting the rear axels and towing it on the front wheels. About every 35 or 40 miles I would pull over and toss in some gear lube in the rear diff. I know I should have just got the flat bed but this was the only option I had in getting it down here. Is there anything I should look out for before I get started on her? after checking out the car it was well worth it! this car makes my last 3 DSM's look like something in a junkyard (which is probably where at least 2 of the 3 belonged in the first place)

QUOTE (Taxiwardance @ Nov 4 2004, 05:20 AM) Is the vce a good idea for a daily driver? There should be some old threads around here on the subject. AWD4kicks can give you the most informed answer as well there as he's driven on one for several months. Basicly, you will noticed some tight turn slow speed differences. Possible increased wear on the output (?) shaft I believe. Overall though not a big deal IMHO for a DD. I'd do it in your shoes. Oh, and given that you can swap the entire drivetrain from your current car you should be fine. -------------------- |
