problems starting Options

Alright when i get up in the morning and go out to my car to start it it takes a while. When i crank it over it doesnt want to start. I turn the key and start pumping the gas pedal and it will start and then die,start and die, start and die. Finally once i get it to stay started by reving around 3500 rpms for a min or 2 it will run fine. If i shut the car down after driving it for a while and then go back out to the car it will start right up. Any help would be apreciated. Oh and i just changed the spark plugs thinking that might be it but it wasnt.

there's a startup fuel enrichment switch enable on your MAFT if you've got 2.01 version which I think you do. In that case, try turning dip switch 3 to the on position. That would take care of your carb'ed car theory garner.

we never replaced his ISC. IAC and ISC are synonymous but generally the ISC is better for DSM terminology because it uses a stepper motor, hence the S, though it actually stands for speed I guess.

I think you're thinking of the EGR that we bypassed that may make a difference on your car since it was throwing a code for a while. Have you scanned for ecu error checks yet? If not, do so and for gods sake, plug that egr sensor back in to get rid of that annoying light if it's still on.

So, try flipping that switch, scan the ecu, and play around with the idle knob or AFPR a bit if everything else seems kosher, yet the problem persists.
