New car Problems, Preparing to take on a new Evolution Options

Got all the bad gas out of the new AWD. It is now running 110 octane. Changed the injectors and that helped smooth it out some.

Some of the problems now....will not rev past 6300 and takes a while to get there. It does not bounce off of a rev limiter it just won't go any higher......there is a loud POP coming from somewhere under the hood, can't tell if it is coming from near the intake or the IC. It you can feel it through the UICP and the sound seems to move.

You have to hold the gas to the floor for it to start. We were thinking maybe bad fuel pump and/or filters???

When it does idle it sounds fine except for a hiccup every now and then that almost sounds like when your A/C kicks on. When you try to drive it you have to floor the gas and it seems to have no power and wants to go nowhere. Possible boost leak?

Things we need.......Timing Belt (looks like swiss cheese), logger, and somebody with a little more knowledge.........Nate, Marcus, Kris

Be careful which garage you take it too.  I've heard more stories about garage screwing up timing belts and not fessing up than I care to think about.

I can give personal testimony to a shop absolutely screwing up the job and overcharging me for it as well. Once I got the car back and fixed the problems myself, I realized how easy it actually is to change that belt. It's a pain, no doubt, but nothing overly complicated. Don't be skurrred!

Oh, the shop that "fixed" my car didn't know to sync the balance shaft behind the oil pump pully. It made for some nasty vibes and an exploded crank pully assembly.
