I started getting eratic knock the other day. Mainly in the first 10 min of driving. Big knock spikes or locking at 43 counts. All at light acceleration. Mash the throttle...no knock. After the 10 min, it acts normaly.
So after talking to NCgalant we suspect the knock sensor is going bad. It's of unknown vintage, got it when my other one melted to sealant out of it. So it takes me 2 hours to get to the damn thing and it looks fine. Nothing's melted. I suppose it could be bad inside. I order one from Advance and it should be here tomorrow. My questions: 1--anybody experience something similiar? 2--the sensor is a GP sorenson (sp?) the guy at Advance said he thought it came with just a pigtail. Do the colors match the stock connector, so I just have to splice it together. A 2 piece crank can cause phantom knock.
 But lightening can't strike twice can it?
