So after the 1G I got didn't work out, I've been parting it out and should have it completely gone on Saturday.
A buddy is buying my transmission from TRE as well. I will have ~$2500 on hand when all is said and done. Friend of mine has a 95 for sale. Didn't say if AWD or FWD but I want the GSX. Has 133k miles on it. Black. Clean. Only rust is on rear quarter. 5spd. I'm a little leery though because of all this I hear about crankwalk and things like that. I have a couple spare things off the 1G I could throw on it (BOV, boost controller) What should I look out for? I know to look for strut tower rust and things like that now... -------------------- If the sound of a DSM in the distance rowing through the gears gives you a hardon, you might be a car enthusiast.

Crank walk is real, and you need to verify that it isn't present in any vehicle you are going to buy. If it is not present with as many miles as a used 2G probably has...then it probably won't be an issue for a while.
Minor things like exhaust and intake are not that big of a deal. It's those little $12 home made manual boost controllers that have made such a good and bad name for DSM's. If you can keep that off the car...it will be just like any other commuter. Then again why would you just want another commuter? That's just me. -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo
