I'm hoping somebody can help tell me what this is or could be:
When I am driving and come to a stop or slow down to turn in my driveway, there is this horrible squealing noise...and it's driving me insane. It isn't my brakes, I know that for sure. Somebody told me that it could possibly be the sway bar bushings ( I think that's right), but then I had that looked at and it wasn't the case. Any suggestions? Anyone else had this problem? I'm not too familiar with the breakdown of my car, so I have no clue. Thanks. -------------------- The one thing that unites all human beings regardless of sex, age, or race is that each person believes they are above average drivers...

my car did this, i figured my pads were gone. not the case. the rotors are glazed over, they probably look really shinny. it's just like sliding your finger on a peice of glass hard, it makes a sqeak. take a peice of sandpaper, around 200 grit, and sand them slightly. you can either take your wheels off, or if youve got small hands you can probaby get your hands behind the rims. dont forget to get the backs, too.
